Mission & Values of GEIF

The GEIF Foundation was born from the initiative of committed industrialists who observed the difficulties, particularly social, economic and environmental, faced by stakeholders involved in the extraction, collection and processing of minerals and metals worldwide, foremost among them artisanal miners and their families.

The Foundation aims to support the affected communities by pursuing goals aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Thus, the Foundation's commitment revolves around environmental and sustainable development objectives, humanitarian and educational aims, and ultimately public health.

We rely on fundamental principles such as ethics, sustainability, inclusivity and equity. Our actions must also reflect a form of excellence to ensure high-quality standards.

Our Approach

The PX Impact® label aims to generate a tangible and positive impact within mining communities by contributing to their sustainable development through projects implemented by development-focused non-governmental organizations (NGOs) supported by the GEIF Foundation. The resources of the PX Impact® fund come from PX Précinox's end customers, who pay an additional amount for gold derived from ore supplied by artisanal miners (ASGM, in English, for Artisanal and Small-Scale Gold Mining). The amount of this commitment varies and depends on the annual quantities purchased. It is fully transferred to the PX Impact® fund and reinvested locally in artisanal mining communities, thereby creating a 'virtuous circle'.

Advantages of PX Impact®-Certified Supply Sources

  • • High extraction ratio. For comparison :
  • • • 1 ton = 25 g (ASM mines / PX Impact®; about twenty times more than industrial mines)
  • • • 1 ton = 400 g for urban mines (PX Impact® perspectives)
  • • Extraction revenues paid to local populations.
  • • Full traceability.
  • • Massive reduction of chemical agents and strict control of their use (complete elimination of mercury).
  • • Replicability (ASM or urban mine, for example).

Projects

Since the creation of the PX Impact® fund, support has been exclusively directed to the NGO FIDAMAR, whose mission is to create a positive impact in its areas of intervention, with a focus on improving the quality of life of the most disadvantaged. Its vision is to promote sustainable development within artisanal mining communities in Peru.

GEIF projet-1GEIF projet-2

In parallel with the support provided to FIDAMAR, the foundation aims to diversify its field partners both in Peru and elsewhere, always with the goal of serving the interests of miners and their communities.

« In parallel with the expectations of end customers, social and environmental responsibility will become, whether by conviction or regulatory obligation, one of the fundamental components of the values of excellence promoted by the watchmaking, jewelry and banking sectors. The finance and luxury industries, given the image and credibility they convey as well as the resources at their disposal, have the ability—if not the duty—to position themselves as leaders in this area. We all stand to gain from it. »
